10 THE SAN FRANCISCO CALL, MONDAY. AUGUST 19, 1895 CRICKET AT MILL VALLEY, The Incogniti Defeat the Local Men in the First Inning. Captain Bowhlll Makes Two Good Scores—The Scheduled Cup Match Forfelted. The Incogniti, an eleven of cricketers largely composed of members of the Bohe- mian Cricket Club and captained by Dr. Bowhill, went to Mill Valley yesterday and defeated the recently formed local club by 39 runs. The visitineg team went first to bat and compiled 93 runs, theis captain contributing the largest quota in excellent form. Cookson’s 14 was also well earned. Sollom and Sutcliffe bowled very well for the home team, and the fielding was generally good. The Mill Valley men played a good de- fensive inning, Truman’s 18 being particu- larly well earned. But the bowling of the veteran Cookson and of his colleagues, Pollock and Townsley, proved too much for the unpracticed batsmen, who were dismissed after passing the half-century by 4 runs. The Incogniti played out time and made another 173 runs, to which Bowhill and Townsley contributed 70 and 27 respect- ively. Following is the score: INCOGNITL. Dr. Bowhill c. Schluter b. Sutcliffe. Townsley c. Farrell b. Sollom. Mertin b. Sollom ristowe b. Sutcliffe Solium_b. Suicl Cookson b. Sollom. . Pollock b. Sutcliffe ~ Reeve c. 1ruman b Banaer, not out W. Macindoe c. Sollom b. Sutciffe . The scheduled cup match between Ala- meda and California was forfeited by the latter club on accoant of the absence from town of a majority of their team.
