They were mot disappointed. It recovered to 7T41jgc, but what occurred in the next half-hour rather upset the calcuiations of the crowd. After hanging between 733c and 7354c for Wbout twenty minutes succeeding the bulge to 74l4c it took a sudden dip to 73%ac, recovered to T3%4c, broke again to 73%4c, but quickly dropped so far that the last named fizure appeared 1o be away on the top of & mountain. It went down to 713¢. It took about thirty minutes to tumble &gc. The volatile character of the market was well main- tained throughout the session. for by 12 o'clock the price had again climbed to 73! The reports of crop damage and the profes- sionals fought each foot to foot during the entire session, and_as the end approached the market de oped most extreme nervousness. It rushed up and down between T8¢ and 73%4c, taking only & few minutes 10 go from one extreme to the other, and finally closed at 7355c. Corn was active and strong in the face of the re- ceipt 0f 917 cars and an absence of demand for round lots for shipment. After filling shipping orders there was no competition, and as the local packers had the fleld all to themselves prices weakened some- what. No changes in prices re- corded for the past week. Sales are, if anything, lighter, and buyers do not seem eager to purchase more than sufficient to tide them over their present demands. Several new crops have srrived, but they have beep principally from the sheep territory. Wools have come straggling in, but are on u higher than buyers are willing to pay.
