SAN FRANCISCO, March 25, 5 P. a.—The pressure is highest to- night in Wyoming aud lowest along the Pacific Coast. Tt is falling quite rapidly from San Fran- clsco morthward to Puget Sound. The winds are shifting to the eastward but are still light. The weather is partly cloudy throughout Northern California and Southern Oregon, and also along Puget Sound. There are some indications that a storm is approaching the Northern California or Southern Oregon coast, but it is still at consid- erable distance at sea, and rain Is hardly to be ex- pected within the next twenty-four hours. Unfor- tunately the reports from E account of the telegraphic wires being down. Unusually high temperatures prevall to-night throughout California and Arizona, the highesi re- poried being: Yuma 96 deg., Tucson 92, Los An- geles 84, San Luls Obispo 8 come slightly cooler along the California coast Tuesday evening. CHICAGO. March 2 .—Wheat was firm- early and strong to the close. Itleftoff with a gain of 34c per bushel. It was entirely a weather market, reports of probable damage being numerous. Corn was in sympathy with wheat and gained 34c. Provisions were strong and closed so at marked advance. Oats gained l5¢. ‘Wheat was still under thrall of dry wenther at the opening and continued to be dominated by that thronghout the entire session. At Liverpool the market was reported 1,d higher at the opening, but that was taken to represent the influence there of 1c per bushel advance here on Saturday. The closing cables came firm for the most part, with Berlin strong and from 114 marks to 114 marks higher, The export clesrances for wheat and fiour from the Atlantic ports smounted to 280,000 bushels. The visible supply decreased 1,100.000 bushels: o year ago the decrease for the week was 1,096,000 bushels. Corn—The receipts were 222 cars. of which 34 were of the contract grades.
