A colored man named Fowler, who at Eighth and Caldwell streets, found his cow this morning with a spike sticking into her side. Attached tothe spike was a plank several feet long, which clung to the poor beast for several hours before the spike was pulled out. The matter was reported to Officer Dagan, but he has no clue to the perpetrator, The deed is supposed tw have been to get even with Fow- ler for letting his cow ran at large.
