This morning a special train passed through Paducah about noon with the military company from Pewee Valley, and when the soldiers reached Mayfield, it was found that they had a Gatling gun. This did not have a very pacific effect, but whether any effort will be made to lynch the pris- oner remains to be seen. The case was finished this noon and given to the jury, will settle it without delay, thought. The defendant, one of the most promiment citizens in Mayfield, was charged with the murder of Mr, R.
