Ed Chenault went to Frankfort yesterday and offered to Governor Bradley the services of his company, consisting of 156 volunteer negroes. “The governor told me,’’ Ed said, “sthat from present indications he ex- pects another call for volunteers within ten days or two weeks. If this call comes he expects to have a negro regiment among the iroops. Ilo told me that our company wil be the first one he will call on in this event.
