The only question before Judge Sanders was, whether or not the company was liable for the license of 25, due under the old ordinance, before the new one exempting it was passed. Judge Sanders decided that it was unjust to require the company to pay it at any time, even if there was an ordinance requiring it, and so adjudged, It is said that other firms claiming to be manufacturers of vinegar, who have paid the license, will sue the city to recover the amounts paid. The search warrant against Mrs. L. Walsh was continued, T. J. Bowles took oath the other day that Joseph Berry, his brother- in-law, called him as—ofab—. A warrant was issued on the strength of his statement. This morning Berry was before court. It seems he and Bowles had patched it up. Bowles could not re- member a thing about Berry using such an epithet towards him.
