Mayor Lang stated that the pose of the meeting was to give ond passage to several ordinances. The ordinance dispensing with trustees for Owk Grove was given final passage. The following ordinances were then read and placed on final pass- age: ‘An ordinance fixing the compensa tion of market master at $600 per year, and investing bim with police power ; an ordinance fixing the com- pensation of chief of police at $780 ar; an ordinal fixing the ation of city treasurer at $1 year, (payable monthly) and de- fining his duties; an ordinance relat- jag to the police department and ap- pointment thereof, Marshal Collins’ quarterly report and Wharfmaster Fowler's monthly teport were received and tiled.
