The City of Sheffield 1s due here out of the Tennessee tomorrow for St. Louis. ‘The State of Kansas passed up last night from New Orleans en route to Cincinnati. The towboat, R. A. Speed, arrived here out of the Tennessee yesterday with a tow of ties. The river continues to rise here and the rise of last night is estimated to be two inches. §The government gauge registered this morning 6.6 and rising. The big "John K. Speed is due down today from Cincinnati en route to New Orleans. The Sunshine from Memphis is due today bound for Cincinnati. The H. W. Buttorff, which was due here out of the Cumberland river early this morning, had not ar- rived at a late hour but is expected to be in and out for Nashville before dark tonight.
