Michael will be taken out on the docks today fora carrying general overhauling. The river is receding at a very lively gait here, and the gauge regis- tered this a, m. 20,0 and showing a fall of ten tenths in 12 hours, The big Bostona, which ran through herself several days ago, and has b-en at Cairo receiving repairs, is due to pass up today for Cincin- nati, Carpenters and painters are at work on the steamer W. K. Phillips, putting her in shape for the trade be- tween Nashville and Evansville. The Jobn S. Hopkins was out frem Evansville this moruing and made connections here with the Dick Fowler for Cairo, She left on her return at 10 a. 0 The machinery of the towboat, Josie, which ran through herself last week, is now in the machine shops here being repaired. She will be out in a few days as good as ever. Capt.
