ROURKES ARE SHUT OUT Wichita, Kan., July 27.—(Special Telegram.)—The Wolves pulled off a batfest at the expense of O'Toole and Krause today and won by a score of 14 to 0. Pitcher Bennett, a right- hander, late of the Northern league and with Columbus last season, al- lowed seven hits, but scattered them through seven innings and backed by some fast fielding he was in little danger of being scored on. It was the short way out in the first three innings. Smith led off with a triple in the fourth but a popup and two hits to the infield held Smith ] on third. Fast fielding in the fifth cut off a run. Smith doubled in the sixth, Forsythe doubled in the seventh and Burg doubled in the eighth, but no one could hit in the pinch. Litschi featured at short with eleven chances and Britton at second with nine with- out an error. Jackson’s double fol- lowed by two sacrificed hits scored one in the first. A double and a single counted one in the second. O'Toole had his bad inning in the fifth. Morris doubled and Hannah sacrificed. Ben- gled, scoring Morris. Singles by Jack- son and Rapps filled the bases and Coy lifted the ball over the right field fence, cleaning up. Coy’s double, Thompson's error and Litschi’s single scored two off Krause in the seventh. Krause blew up in the eighth and eased up against so big a lead and he was hit hard. The Wolves batted around and two were up on the second round before the side retired, five hits, three of them double mixed with « sacrifice with three walks explains the disaster that counted five runs, running the total up to fourteen. Kilduff pulled off a couple of fast plays at short for the feature on Omaha's side. Friday's game will start at 2:30 to allow the team to catch a train, Schardt Holds the Kaws to Five Hits' Topeka, Kan, July 27.—Schardt held Topeka to five hits today and Sioux City shut out Topeka, 7 to 0.
