Mrs, Porter Dies at Central City at the Age of 101 Years Central City, Neb.,, July 15.—(Spe- cial.)—Mrs. Mary Porter passed away at the home of her son, William Por- ter, Thursday evening, at the age of 101 years. Death was due to ailments attending old age, and for some time her condition has been regarded as serious. Mrs. Mary Porter was born No- to Stephen Porter. In 1835 they re- moved to Mason county, Illinois, then a new country. To this union seven children were born, of whom three survive, William Porter of this city, with whom she made her home; Mrs. Elyira Newcomer of this city, and Charles Porter of Fullerton, Neb. When the war of the rebellion broke out, her husband and three sons en- listed in the service. One son uever returned from thes truggle.
