The next dance will be given on Decem- Der 28, The meeting of the McPherson Avenue | Improvement club planned for Monday #fternoon at the home of Mrs, A. W. Askwith was postponed until January 3. A number of the members are out of town and others are busy with holiday prepara- tions, so the postponement was deemed advisable. Puplls of Miss Maude Graham Bell, mssisted by the Euterpean quartet, gave a musical on Friday evening at her studio in the Merriam block. The members of the Fortnightly Thim- ble club were entertalned at a 1:® Muncheon on Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Joseph Michener. A dainty three-course luncheon was served, and was followed by the annual exchange of gifts, accomplished through the medinm | of a grab bag. Miss Velma Michener gave several solos which were greatly enjoyed by the guests. Mrs. James Mul- holland, who is famed for her delicious home-made candy, presented each guest with a box of her choicest brands. In addition to the fifteen club members, Mrs. Mi¢hener had as her guests Mrs. A, L. Dermody of Omaha and Mra, Charles ¥. Davis of Pacific Junction. The next meeting bf the club will be held Decem- ber 20 at the home of Mrs. J. A. Killins, Morningside avenue. The Book Lovers met Wednesday after- noon at the home of Mra. A. P. Hanchett, who was assisted in entertaining by Mrs. J, T. Hamilton, Mrs., H. W, Tilton and Mrs. I. N. Flickinger. The meeting marked the completion of the study of George Ellot which has occupled the club since October and the program for the after- noon had as its principal feature & lecture by Dr. J, T.
