o M i By MELLIFICIA. wear ber bhalr done low, Tuesday, August 10, 1915, q ND now comes the edict that her ladyship, to be really mmart, must The high hairdress, except for evening, is passing, and the latest fashion is wearing the hair low and the return of the old- time favorite “figure 8.” The hair is worn rather plain about the face and either drawn loosely and safely back or, for those who have such beautiful faclal contour as to permit of the severity, it may be more tightly smoothed and coftea at the back of the head in a figure 8. For evening wear the high and severely plain headdress is fashion- able, the hair being tightly slicked back from the forehead and ears and softly pulled down just a little over each temple, while the ends are colled simply and tighty high on the head. This severely plain and quaint fashion proves very becoming to some. Return from California. Dr. and Mrs. P. T. Iis cheeks are red, his eyes are clear, and he looks like a frontiers- man or & backwoodsman or something healthy and care-free and all that, Gosh, It's no wonder, either. When a man can take his family and go off and live in & log cabin in the woods far from the madening crowd and sleep out on & screened-in porch thirty feet long and ten feet wide and juet oozing ozone all night, why, it's no wonder.,, Here's something more the marshal tells us that is caleulated to make city dwellers pine for the wilds. With the first bean crop well out of the way, Mr. Dale advised the:children to_plant another crop of beans any time up to the end of the first week in August. The result is that many of the children Who grew real enthusiastic during the summer have planted beans within the last two weeks, and many of them now have & handsome new patch of. beans dust up out, of the ground that they are hoeing. ‘If frost does not come excep- tionally eafly, ‘it is pointed out that, with ‘the abundant molsture now in the #0ll, another bean crop should be easy to raise before frost. —————— Relief from Acute Rheumatism, John H.
