COCHRAN-SCIPLE IN DOUBLES LINCOLN, April 16—(Special Tele gram.)—~The Omaha bowlers made their first appearance in the state bowling tournament last night and proceeded to carry off all the homors. The Stors team jumped into tne lead of the five- man team events with a score of 2,666, with the Fords of Lincoln second with 2,645. and the Jetters of Omaha third with Cochran and K. Sciplo of the Stors team took the lead in the doubles with 1165 pins, with Balzer and Zimmerman a close second with 1,122 pine. Millson and Rempke of Lincoln, the previous leaders, were shoved Into third place. Zarp of the Jetters scored 683 pins down for the leadership of the singles, while Cochran captured second place with 31 pins. Whisenand of Hastings, the pre- vious singles leader, was shoved into third place. Dahlman has received an invitation from the St. Joseph Booster club to attend the opening game in St. Joseph April 23, when the Drummers and Rourkes lock horns. The invitation asks that Dahiman be prepared to don large mitt, protector and mask and catch the first pill pitched as heaved by Bliot Marshall, mayor of St. Joseph. The mayor will probably accept the invita- tion unless other business prevents. Racing Bill Offered In Illinois Senate SPRINGFIELD, TIl, April 16—A racing bill was introduced today in the senate. ALLAN-DARLING DOGS ARE STILL LEADING NOME, Alaska, April 16.—The Allan- Darling team of fourteen malamutes, driven by A. A. “Scotty” Allan, still was leading today in the 4l2-mile all-Alaska sweepstakes dog team race, having driven into Camp Haven, 146 miles from Nome and only sixty miles from the turning point at Candle, one hour and four min- utes ahead of Eskimo John, the native driving the twelve dogs entered by the Council Kennel club. Allan's time to Haven was twenty-two hours. The trail is heavy and slow, but the weather is clear.
