That it will be fully appre- | ‘lated was indicated by the large nuruu-[ ance on the night of its opening. { The decorative sch:me of the thow is | both brilliant and skillfully executed. City | Electrician Waldemar Michaelson had | charge of the installation of the light nnd[ wiring, the lights being practically the only | decorations. However, the show will have | a gala appearance even in the dJaytime, for the various booths and exhibits are attractively gotten up and the general effect of the decorations is not wholly lost even when the lights are not lit. / Viewing the sight from ths ‘west end of the Auditorlum halcony the sjectator | has the whole expanse of hapwly con- | lying before him the show, are suspended from the givders | of the roof and each is rotated continually by an electric fan on its top. In delivering his various lecturettes, he avolds all technical expres- sions and makes his talks sasily understood by the people who are ignorant of the sub- ject until they hear him Last night Dr. Millener experimentedsfor the first time with an alternating current transformer of special design, which he constructed himself and with which he ted considerable quantities of decidedly shocking” entertainment. He also demon- strated with his big coil, which fs capable of produding a twenty-four-inch spark and is made of 600 miles of No. 40 insulated on wire, finer/than hair. It was made in his aboratory Industrial Ald Exhibit. The industrial beoth, f ed hy the Omaha Blectric Light and PPower company as an example of what ean be done with electriclty, was another center of interest and instruction. Motor driven machinery covering & broad range of the application of electrical power and [vowng of great interest (o many visitors, was shown in the industrial booth by thvse firms: Waterloo Creamery companz. ce cream making; Omaha Plating company, jewelry and metal ware plating and polishing; New Fngland Bakery, dough mixing; Omaha Plectrie Works, electrical apparatus mak- ing and repairing; Byrne-Hammer Dry | Goods company, pattern cutting by electric, operated machires, many 1ilcknosses of otH cut at one time: Rapid Shoe Repair company, shoe repairing: Greit Western Type Foundry, newspaper printing; Peter Melchoirs, general muchine work The electrically printed newspaper got- ten .out at one of the booths is quite a pretentious little paper and is to be pub- lished dally during the show. The first issue contained the president's message, a cut of the Auditorium, a directory of the exhibitors and other matter. Musical Features High Class. Daily musical programs by George Green's company of musical experts and Miss Blanche B. Mehaffey, who has bee: engaged for the entire show, are to be an feature of the exposition. At her initial appearance, Miss Meha‘fey scored a decided hit with her rich, power- ful soprano voice and in addition to being recalled for an encore, was presented with a handsome bunch of red and white roses. The band concert was also enjoyed, The management announces that the musical programs will begin at 3 and 8 o'clock each day.
