CALLS ATTENTION TO NEW LAW County Treasurer Reminds People that Taxes Become Delinquent Enrlier Than Usual. County Treasurer Elsasser directs atten- tion to the new law relative to the pay- ment of taxes, which is operative this year for the first time. Under the provisions of this law personal taxes become delin- quent two months earlier than usual. Per- sonal taxes are now due November 1 and are delinquent December 1. Formerly per- sonal taxes were due October 1 and de- linquent February 1. All taxes used to be due October 1; they are now dus No- vember 1. Real taxes are delinquent May 1 of the following year, and may be ad- vertised October 1 of the following year after they are due and may be sold for taxes on November 1 of that year. After taxes are delinquent they draw interest at the rate of 10 per cent per annum, and after sale at the rate of 20 per cent. September salaries of city officers and employes have come to the hands of thelr owners in the roundabout way of court judgment and assignment.
