The crop report given out by the Burlings ton officials for the week ending October 3 states that light rains have fallen in the ex- treme eastern and western parts of the ter- ritory and the sofl {s generally In fair con- dition, although it Is getting rather dry an the western division, especially along the Cheyenne division between McCook and Akron. The work of fall plowing and seed- ing fs progressing rapldly with the light winds and some of this work already is completed. Some of the early sown wheat is out of the ground and growing rapidly. It is estimated that the acreage of small grain this year will exceed that of last year. The weather has been favorable for thresh- ing and considerable has been done. With the dry warm weather and the strong south winds in the corn belt the late corn is ma- turing rapidly and 30 or 40 per cent is now in condition not to be damaged by the heavy trosts and of the early corn 50 per cent of the crop was reported safe at the time of the last report. If the weather coltinues warm and dry for the next ten days it will bring in all the corn that can be matured, The crop of sugar beet is very large and the harvest is well on. Some late hay ha: been put up and the pastures and meadows are generally in fair condition. SOFTNESS OF SEALSKIN, Is Rivaled’ by Huama Dandruff i Eradieate Sealskin is admired the world over for its softness and glossiness, and yet the human hair is equally as soft and glossy when healthy, and the radical cause of all hair trouble is dandruff, which is caused by a pestiferous parasite that saps the vitality of the hair at its root. Newbro's Herpicide is the only preparation that is fatal to the dandruff germ. Without dandruff there 1s no falling hair, but & luxuriant growth of glossy, soft hair is certain. Tcouring the scalp wom't cure dandruff. Kill the dan- druff germ. Thousands of women owe thelr beautiful suits of hair to Newbro's Herplcide. 8old by leading druggists. Monda¥ was court. With “carnival day” in police seventy-two arrests on the carnival grousds Satdrday night and 108 cases in all to dispose of, Judge Berka found time only to glance at each offender and simply say, “One dollar and costs,” o¢ “Discharged,” according as the case might be. From the tales told the judge It ap- pears that the girls, whom the police were anxlous to protect and in consequence issued an ironclad order intended to re- strain those who can’t quit throwing con- fettl, were the aggressors in nearly every instance. The judge saw fit to fine about one-fifth of those who appeared before him on the charge of disorderly conduct on the Midway, but in mast of the cases the fine was remitted and the oftender allowed to go. The carnival grounds, when thronged with sightseers as it was Saturday night, did flot appeal to the judge as the proper place for hugging, and he told severa! of the wan-faced young men who came within range of his judiclal gaze as much in brief, forcible language. “Deport yourselves as gentlemen,” the judge admonished, “and then you will pot bs humiliated by having to ome bere.” — Those who use “Garlands” Mot"auh“-".wv-::llm
