STATE BOWLING ASSOCIATION Preliminary Steps to Organisation to Be Taken in Omaba. | BOWLERS TO COME HERE FROM LINCOLN Plan Contemplates Annual Tourna- ments, First of the Series Held at pital City Early & After planning to that end for two years, Nebraska bowlers are finally to have what they earnestly desire. A state bowling as- sociation, with an annual. tournament, is assured, and the opening tourney will in all probability be held at Lincoln early in May. A committee of bowlers from the capital city will be tn Omaha Saturday to work up the matter with the Omaha bowling inter- ests and the other towns in the state that are contemplated as members of the asso- clation are being canvassed. It is hoped to bring the plans to & conclusion here Saturday and a meeting for organization will be called for Lincoln about May 4. Bowlers here are all strongly in favor of the plan. The sport is o intensely alive in Nebraska that a state association shoyid be a very substantial and powerful sport- | ing organization. There are a score of | towns outside Lincoln and Omaha that have the bowling fever to a degree and have good bowlers and good alleys as well. A few of the more important of these are Fre- mont, Columbus, Schuyler, David City, Grand Island, Hastings, Crete, Wilber, Beatrice, Wymore and Nebraska City. Many Tea to Participate. All these towns could send at le team each to a state meet and Omaha and Lincoln would add several more teams each. In Lincoln, as in Omaba, there is an eight-team league, which has run prosper- ously all season. The spirit of competition in bowling is keen always, and this tourna- ment would be an outlet for it At Lincoln the bowling spirit runs high There are two fine sets of alleys there of On these t one | Fake ¥ | SPRINGFIBLD, Il | “fake’” foot rdce case Was commenced be- | fore Judge Creighton today.
