Mre. Margarot Brennan was struck by & ‘morthbound motor car at Sixteenth and Dorcas stfeets about 8 yesterday morn- ing and recetved injuries which caused her death at 13 o'clock. She received several outs in fhe face and brulses on the body, fnternal® injuries and her right leg was broken below the knee, After the accident she was taken to & nearby drug store and attended by Dr. N. F. Steiner and later re- moved to St. Joseph's hospital. She was yendered unconscious when the car struck her and remained so until death. . Mrs, Brennan attempted to cross the strest and falled to notice the approaching car. She was struck and dragged several yards, though the wheels did not pass over der body. She was immediately picked up /by the car crew and others and taken Into !the drug store and medical aid summoned. ‘After & basty examination her wounds were | pronounced fatal and she was removed to |the hospital in the police ambulance. The lear was in charge of Conductor R. Har- }rington and Motorman Willlam Carson { Mrs, Brennan was a widow and a sister of Thomas Tallon, who recently dled. Y., May 80—A 2- pear-old Indian tiger was killed in a fight with borses on a circus traln from Goschen to Poughkeepsie today. The tiger, which bad been recently imported, escaped from Its wagon-den while the train was in mo- ton, It crawled over the tops of four wag- ons and entered & car .containing thirty fraught horses. MAY CONTINUE AT OLD STAND Prospective Purchasers of Continen- tal Clothing Stock Inquir- ing About the Lease. There is a probability that the stock of the Contimental Clothing company, now in the hands of H. F. Roberson, receiver, will be sold to some person who will continue the busiuess at the present location. In- quiries have been made of the receiver as to whether or not the lease oo the bullding can be secured by the purchaser of the stock and fixtures. An Inveice shows that the present stock on hand is worth about $25,000, while the fixtures ‘cost about $7,600.
