WAITING FOR CONSOLIDATION RESULTS mething Definite Wil Be Known by Octoher 10, Says an Authority, and Then Will Come Varfous New Features in Service, Suspension of activity of the Omaha Street Rallway company in the matter of extending certain lines of its present sys- tem and the construction of suburban lines, which was being seriously considered dur- ing the early months of the summer, has excited some comment and for a time the apparent change of policy was not under- stood. Tt is now announced that this suspension due to the pending consolidation and until after October 10 the present com- pany will take no steps in that direction. But it is further stated by ap officer of the company that one of the considerations of the proposed consolidation Is the ex- tension of the present lines along the plans of the present company and the con- struction of the suburban lines proposed by the company last spring. The lines especially referred to in this connection are the line to Fort Crook and the line to Seymour park. The Thirty-third street extension will proceed as though the con- solidation was not under way as its con- struction is a matter already passed upon by the board of directors. George E. Pritchett has gone to New York where he will meet Frank Murphy, who Is already In that city and it is generally understood that before these gentlemen return from the east the matter of the con- solidation, so far as the Omaha Street Rallway company Is concerned, will be fin- ally decided one way or the other. The value of street rallway stock has steadily appreciated since the consolidation was first broached and it s sald by officers of the company that they are supremely in- different as to the course taken by the eastern men who are managing the affal of the propos:d consolidated company OPENING SALE Sale of Finest Tharsday The ladies of Omaha look to the big store for all that Is exquisite, dcsirable and fash- tonable in millinery surpass all previous displays.
