The manager of the Doane team sent word to Mr. Lee that his players would be unable to put in an appearance for the reason that se al of them are badly crippled and ill-condi- tioned to meet such formidable foes as are the Medics, “This unfortunate necessity of cancel- ing the game is very annoying to| me,”" said Manager Lee, “and is a matter | of regret to all the members of the team. Yollowing right on the heels of our d pointment in the backing out of the Clty Medics last Saturday, It hus left our team without any gridiron work for a much longer period than any one had dreamed of. “The team 18 in excellent shape, every man having shown wonderful improvement in the splendid work that has been done under the direction of Coach Danny Tay- lor. We will be in fine fettle for our gume with Drake university November 24 and with the Rush Medics Thanksgiving day. It Is a foregone conclusion that, had we played the game scheduled with Doane, we would have bagged another victory Last Saturday Doane met Hastings college and won by a score of 5 to 0. This is somewhat significant when it {s remem- bered that we defeated Hastings college the Saturday preceding by a score of 21 to 0.
