FOOTPADS MAKE GOOD HAUL Hield Up Near Old Fort nd Relieved of Twenty- Six Dollars, general agency precinet S. D. Roge, & young man employed by the Barber Asphalt company, was held up and robbed ‘of $26 Sunday night near the guard bouse at old Fort Omaha, Thirtfeth and Fort streets. The job was done by two men, one of whom, the ehorter of the two, was masked. The latter displayed a pistol, pointing it at Rose and threatening to shoot it be made any outcry or resistance. The taller of the footpads acted as spokesman. Rose was on bis way to the city from Florence, where he had been escorting » young woman to her home. He was afoot. it was about 11 o'clock when, approaching the site of the old fort, two men stepped | out of the rhadow and ordered him to hold |up uls bands. As Rose was unarmed he made no resistance. The masked robber kept him covered with the revolver while his tall companion searched the victim‘s pockets, taking $26 in bills from his vest | pocket.
