Pusey's name was brought out with one vote from Fré mont county and Page county followed suit by giving him three of its votes. The next ballot gave Pusey nine votes, but this was the most he received in any ballot. In the thirtieth ballot Page county gave four of its votes to George F. Wright of this city and the next ballot gave Wright seven votes. but after that he dropped out of the vot | ing again. On the thirty-seventh ballot Whecler recelved 51 votes, as against | Lewis' 32, and the Wheeler crowd began to believe its candidate was about to se- the nomination. It was doomed to | dissappointmdnt, however, for on the next | ballot he dropped back to 38 votes. With the five counties having candidates of their own see-sawing back and forth | the balloting went on to the forty-fifth bal {1ot, when Fremont county again gave Jacob Sims one of its votes.
