TUESDAY, May 4. There was a comparatively light run of | cattle and sheep today, but the heaviest run of hogs in over a month. The total | was 105 cars, of which twenty-two were cattle, 55 head, as agalnst 1,227 Monday and 1624 on last Tuesday. With less than half as many cattle as on Monday, there wis no improvement whatever in the de- mand, and the market was on the same | dull, dragging order with a further soften- Ing of values. Eastern markets were In bad shape and shippers did nothing, so that it was the good weight cattle that suffered the most. In some cases these sold a dime lower, while many of the lighter cattle sold at fully steady prices. The eneral quality of the offerings was not very good.
