It was decided to allow a rate of 25 cents on carloads of beer from Chicago to the Missouri river, a minimum weight of 24,000 pounds to the car being agreed upon. A request for a reduction in 1'me rates from Hannibal to points in Kansis and Indian territory, as against the rates from Aux Vazes, Mo., was defeated. A request for the application of Omaha-St. Louls rates on packing house products from Sioux City to St. Louis was refused. Oma were again on the top when it was declined to allow them to Sloux City on shipments of rice from New Orleans. Two applications desiring a rule allowing mixed shipments of dressed poultry, butter- ine, etc., with packing house products and dressed beef were declined. The lines of the Western Passenger Trunk Line committee held three meetings today and accomplished nothing at any of them. The general meeting was the first to con- vene, and the report of the committee on rules for the formation of subcommittees was taken up. The report was outlined yes- terday, and a few minor changes were sug- gested. None of them were made, however, and no action on the report was taken. The second meeting was that of the adylsory committee of the Emigrant Clearing house, which amounted to nothing more than an informal dlscussion with Manager Pratt of the New York office. The third meeting was of the St. Paul-Minneapolis lines over their rate sheet, which has been troubling them sorely of late. The Chicago Great Western, which gave notice some time ago that it would have nothing to do with the rate sheet, on account of some unjust treatment it had recelved from the lines represented, had receded from its position, and was in attendance at today's meeting. The meet- ing did not get beyond a discussion. Tomorrow the general meeting will con- vene again, and the question of the Wabash becoming a member will come up, and that road, it is expected, will positively refuse to sign the committee agreement until the dispute between the Alton and it regarding Fast St. Louls rates Is settled. The Missourl Pacific will refuse to come in unless the Wabash becomes a member. The Alton has in no way receded from its position regard- ing tho East St. Louls rates, and the pro- posed conference between General Manager Hayes of the Wabash and Chappell of the Alfon, which is to settle the matter, is not likely to take place at an carly date, as Mr. Chappell is now in the south for his health, The fifth annual session of the frefght claim agents of the railroads of the United States began at the Auditorium hotel today. The report of the commitlee on amendments to the rules was presented at the opening and was under discussion all day, Fort Neat' & 1 KANSAS CITY ers of the K mphin Elecis the O1d Fonrd. » March 13.—The stockhold- nsas City, Fort Scott & Mem- phis railway held their annual meeting in this city today, and elected the old board of directors to serve for the ensuing yeur o directory s made up as follows: H, H Hunnewell, Charles Merriam, T, Jefferson Coolidge niel Thayer, John A.
