The wide skirt was lined with cream white silk, and bordered at the foot with a two-inch sable band. Under the sable band the skirt was wired with “feather edge which insured perfect curves. The bodi lad a yoke eficct formed by four clusters of tiny tucks, which spread, glving a paunch effect below. The waists were encirclod with a sash of cream white molre ribbon tied in loops, the long e hanging at the back. The slecves were very full and dr ing, and buttoned tightly at the wrist. The bridesmaids wore Gainsborough hats of black mousseline de eofe, shirred over @ skein of wires, With waved | lines of cut jet on the outside fol- lowing the wires, Single ostrich tips stood up at the left side of the crown, and a | cluster of three tips arranged underneath and curling over the top of the brim. At the base of these tips was a cluster of pale pink rosebuds, with a bunch of violets, some sprays of mignonette which drooped down on the hair. The bridesmalds’ bouquets were of pink and white flowers, two of Testou roses and lilies of the valley, securely tied with broad pink ribbons. Masters Kingdon and Jay Gould, ths nephews of the bride, who carried her train, were simply and prettily dressed. They wore knee breeches of white corded silk, white silk stockings, white kid slippers with liberty satin coats over white silk shirts, large square cut, pale pink silk collars. Bach wore a pin of diamonds and amethysts, the gift of the bridegroom. The bride’s traveling gown was of deep Prussian blue cloth, called vieux bleu. The Jacket was lined with red peau de soie, and Cut very short. The skirt was very full, and like all the gowns of the bride, the trous- seau was wired at the hem with feather- bone. The hat is a pretty touque to match the gown made of Persian lamb, with the knots of purple velvet, one on the right side and one on the left, and under the left knot were fastened three black quills. — The steamer gown is an imported ench gown, perfectly 1 of covert cloth, and lined with blue. upper part of the gown is a jacket with little capes over the sleeves. There are six slecveless blue waists to be worn with this jacket. Mrs, George J. Gould wore a lovely dres of canary faille, brocaded in Dresden. The design is a pattern of sunflowers in little bouquets sprinkled all over the gown. The skirt was very full and fell in organ plaits in the back. The waist of this gown was of canary yellow chiffon accordeon plaited over canary yellow lining, The sleeves were of imported faille of elbow length. There were bars of oriental embroidery of deep yellow, verging from canary yellow to a deep orange. These bands were embroidered with precious stones. Over the chiffon walst was worn an oriental embroidered zouave jacket. The collar was made of vellow satin and fastened with a large bow at the back of the neck. A very handsome jewel held the bow in place. WEALTH OF DIAMONDS AND PEARLS. The presents were displayed in the library on the second floor, directly above the East India room. The superb jewels were laid out on the library table on a cover cloth of heavy red velvet. Among the rarest and mozt costly of the bride's presents was a heart-shaped brooch. In the center was the rare and world-famous Esterhazy diamond, surrounded by eleven dlamonds, each of which is large enough to be worn as a single stone. This was the gift of Miss Helen Gould. Mr. and Mrs. George J. Gould's present vas a collar of superb pearls, con- sisting of ten strands, each pearl belng the size of a good-sized pea. The strands were crossed by bars of platinum, holding rows of brilliant white diamonds, these dividing the pearls into ten compartments. In each bar were twelve diamonds. In the entire collar there were seventy-iwo diamonds and 800 pearls. Mr. Frank Gould presented a chain of 200 diamonds which could be worn in coils about the neck or entwined as a bracelet about the wris Mr. Howard Gould gave a large knot or cluster of diamonds, each end of the glitter- ing ribbon having as a tassel a superb blue and pink diamond. The Marquis and Marquise Castellane pre- sented a superb unique necklace, consisting of five ropes of pearls, each string of which is of historic interest, one having belonged to Henrl Quatre and another to Marie An- toinette. At one end of the necklace, secur- ing the five strands, was a magnificent square emerald of exceeding beauty, sur- rounded by twenty-four diamonds. This is an heirloom in the De Castellane fawmily and could pass only to the eldest son.
