OMAHA LIVE STOCK MARKETS Receipts Show Little Change, but General Oonditions Are Much Improved, DEMAND FOR ALL GRADES OF CATTLE rices Range from Steady to a Shade Higher with Active Trading—Hogs Une ovenly Higher on an Essentially Local Market. FRIDAY, Dec. 21 Receipts of all kinds of stock were some- what lighter than a week ago today, but the five days' supply shows very little vari- ation as compared with last week. The cattie market was livelier and firmer than on Thus , but that it not a great deal, Supplies were very moder and on this account, well as for reason that castern markets showed up bet- ter, the dressed beef men wers more dis- posed to trade, and did pay a shade stronger prices for handy beef grades. Cattle that were rough, too heavy or too light did not sell whit better than on Thursday. Gen- erally speaking, however, trade was brisk, the tone better and prices firmer than they have been since Monday. Cow stuff of all grades s eral improvement, although prices were not quotably higher. Veal calves were in very good demand and firm, but the market for rough stock of all kinds was dull and lower, The stocker and feeder trade also took a new lease of life. On account of the d cline in prices during the past few days there was a good line of buyers on and the liberal supply on sale was mat ally reduced by large purchases by 'stillc well as country bu fces ruled o shade stronger.
