The second auction of fruit in Omaha took place yesterday aternoon at 2 o'clock. The offerings were not so heavy as at the pre- vious auction, there being only about 480 boxes, all cherries, on sale. The attend- ance of buyers was large and included practically all the wholesale fruit dealers and brokers, besides some retailers. The peddlers, who were so numerous at the first sale, were rather conspicuous by their absence, the rule of the sale requiving a deposit of $30 to insure the carrying out of contracts not being to their liking. The fruit ranged In quality from choice down to very common, there being some lots that were a little off. The buy amine the fruit, and it was a littl the actual bidding commenced, auctioneer announced th; sales in the future would be on time, so that buy will have to be at the rooms a little in vance in order to have an oppuortunit examine the fruit.
