The cattle market was active and higher. Receipts were moderate and the quality fair as arule, There was a very active de mund from the dressed beef men and as the offerings were decidely limited the comyeti- tion was vigorous enough to put prices up two or three nowhes. Several loads of good to choice 1,200 1o 1,550-1b. beeves sold readily atfrom #.75 1o .15, tho latter being the highest price paid nere in several months, Decent range cattle were also in good demand at stronger prices. The warket wus sharply higher on anything wunted, The feeling was very bullish and an early clearance effected, Cows changed hands freely at substan tially stronger prices. There were perhaps thirty loads on sale all told, and local houses soon picked them upat from 210 to $2.05 for fair to good butcher cows, and from $1.25 to #2 for common und canving grades.
