He asks that the property be sold, The financial interests involved are in the neighborhood of §250,000. Other District Court News, Judge Strode and a jury are engaged today in hearing a case where John Lanham sues John Fitzgerald for £10,000. The controversy grows out of a subcontract under Fitzgerald held by Lanham in the building of the Bur- lington line from Tobias to Idgar in 1886, Lanham was to receive a certain_ specified sum for loose earth, but no provisions were made for hard pan. As the greater part of Lanham's work was in hard pan, he asks for extra therefor, as well as for the building of ditches and ecanals caused by a change in the specifications after he had begun worlk, O. B. McCiovern asks the court to appoint a receiver for the Alliance Publishing com pany on the ground that the defendants, hornton, Murray and Mefford, are fast dis sipating the assels of the firm by misappro- priation of assets, freczing out the smaller holders and piling up debts.
