Mo eame out of the Indian school an educated, finished gentleman, with a college training and all the rest of it. His native brightness and the culture he had come by so strangeiy made him a great favorvite. Society took him up and he was a lion at receptions. His was a presence that would make any such show a success. His strong Indian face and tall, well-knit frame set off 2004 clothes splendidly. Women partic- ularly were interested in this reclaimed savage with a high mission, for he knew the purpose the government that had done so much for him intended him for, and he spoke of it with enthusiasm. He. lived the white man’s life, said pretty things to the white man’s women in romantic conservatories. Surely the education of Kid was a great success.
