The stock yards company has just completed arrangements for putting in an electric hight plant. W. 8. King, the company’s engineer and architect, left last night for Pittsbure, P’a., to place orders with the Wostinghouse Electrical company for the machinery for the plant, The company will expend $30,000 in the ereotion of buildings and the equipment of the plant. The plant will be located on I'wenty-seventh stroet just south of tne South Omaha’s Eloctric Light company’s sta- tion. A brick building two stories bigh will be erected, Tue boiler room wili be 40x6 feet ana the machine room H0x60 feet. The dynamos will bave a capacity for furnishing light for 100 are and 1.600 lamps. A circuit will also be put in furnish- ing power for electric motors. The capacity of the plant will bo the same as that of the company now operating here, Tnis improvement bas been under con- templation for some time. The stock yards company will not onlv furnish the hghts for 1ts vwn use, but will supply whatever de- mand there is for lights or power in the city.
