g WIDOW TUSLER'S FICKLENESS Bhe Revokes the Power of Attorney Given Omaha Lawgers, HINTS OF SENSATIONAL DEVELOPMENTS Control of a Fifty-Thousand-Dollar Ranch in Wyoming at Stake—The Widow's Bank Account May Play a Part, The fact of Catherine M. Tusler having vesterday filed in the office of the register of deeds a revoeation of the power of attorney which she gave to Lawyers H. P. Stoddard and W. 1. Healey some time azo is not a very intercsting item of news of fiself, but there are some sensational facts bonind it. Mrs, Tusler isa widow residing in this oity. and the owner of considerable property. Some years ago her husband died, leaving among other goods aud chattels a ranch in Wyoming, which was well stocked with fine horses und cattie, Boing a woman who was nnaccustomed to handling property of this class, sho cast about for soms man who was honest and capable, 1n her search for such a man, she selected a brother, Dr. George Keenan of Madison, Wis. Aftor the arrangement was made it was not Joug until he was on tho way to the wiids of Wyoming. Booted and spurred, he soon be- camo the envy of the cowboys of tho neigh- borhood, who had never bofore scen 80 guy and gaudy a Knight of ~the plains. In due timn, prospering beyond his expectations, he became a partucr in tho ranch, Shortly after this William A. Paxton, & friend of the Tuslers, had occasion to visit ‘Wyoming, and av the request ol the widow called at tho ranch, Puxton, being rizht in thatlino of business, soon discov- ered that something was wrong. 'I'e herd not increased as rapidly as it should. tlo had disapveared and blooded horses hed suddenly teft. but whoro they bad gone he could not learn. Upon . his return this condition of affairs wus roported to Mrs. Tusler. Iyen if.she was a woman she had a long bead. The readily reached the conclusion tkat such a business course would sooner or later drive her tothe poor house. Then it was that sho quietly called A halt, and as a result the purtnershin was dissolved and Dr. Keenan returned to Madison toagain deal out pills and physic. Tha books and pa- pers of the ersuwhile firm were turned over to Lawyers Stoddard and Healev of this city and Hon, George D. Micklejobn for examination. In this examination they claimed to have discovered thar Dr. Keenan hud not dealt squarely with the widow, but, instead, had taken nuL considerable more than his share, ‘I'he discovery I'l‘“llle.‘ in Mr. Healey taking atrip to Madison for the purposo of effecting a settlement. Ho was absout sev- eral days and upon his return he presented a somewhat distigered appearance. The doctor felt insulted when ordered to settle, and instead of turuing over the money claimed, he turned Lawyer Healey over un- ul he was almost unrecogmzable by his most intimate frienas, That settled pll attempts to adjust the difticulty in ap. amicable mauner, and the case went into the Wisconsin courts, where 1t is now pendine. 4 Mrs, Tusler went to Madison some time ago to spond the summer, and came under Dr. Kecnan’s influence once more, Itis presumed that he persuaded her to re. voko the power of attorney, and the next movo in this curious fight is being awaited with interest, ‘Tho revocation was sent to an Omala at- torney to be recorded, but he first sent & fellow limb of the law to Cheyenne to serve a motice on Stoddard and Healey or theiv representa- tives and to put the document on record in that state. He sent word by wire that he bad accomplished his mission. The Wyoming ranch is estimated to be worth abont £50,000. Mrs. Tusler is said 8150 to own $10,000 worth of stock in the Na- tional Bank of Commerce and to have kad & snug deposit in the bank. Itis hinted that she had fears for the safety of these, and there are intimations of sensational develop- meuts to come.
