That the fang was oporating has been known for some time past, but all efforts to locate its mem- bers were fruitless, They were engaged in an extensive green goods business in addi- tion to the manufacture of the worthless stuft. Doputy United States Marshal Rich- ards succeeded fn ranning down Frank Murphy and brought him to the city yester- any morning, depositing him in the city jail with the charge of bandling counterfeit money eaterel against him. Murphy, who is a nard looking customer, admitted, when arrested, that he had tried to pass some bad money, but said he waus drunk whon he did it. At Croston he passed onc & bill off on an unwary storekeeper and tried to puss several others, but thoy were refused. When he was brought before the commis- sioner he stoutly maintained his innocence, but it did not take the ofticers long to con- vinee him that enough was known ahoat him to make things very unpleasant for un. He then decided to make a cloun breast of the whole thing. He admitted velonging to the gane, and gave away the names of two of the other members of the gaug. Richards at once sent a telogram to Creston asking the nolice of thut place to arrest the two whose names were implicated by Murphy’s confes- sion. Another telegram was soon received from Creston stating that the men wero under arrest and would bo sent to the Bluffs on the ovening train.
