The new eloction law based on the Aus- tralian system was tried for the first tim The eity has for soveral years enjdyed the beneficial effect of a rogistration law admin- istered by an honest and eflcient and non partisan board of electors. The presant law 15 a fine srpplement to that and they voth banish the cvils that actually attached to tho old system or least we always thought to at- tach to it. The present law appears to give a perfece registry and declaration of tho peo- ple's will. In this city tho expense of special clection booths was avoided.
