The last session of the grand lodge, Knights of Pythins, of Nebraska, held at Lincoln, was the most harmonious session ever held vy that body. It was chiefly remarkable for what it refused to do rather than for what was done. ‘The following is a brief synopsis of the leg- islation enacted during the session : A resolution offered by the committee on law, fixing the charter fee in towns whero there were no lodges at 310, was defeated by an oyerwhelming majority after a prolonged uud heated discussion. e report of the committee on law advis- ing against the adontion of the resolution tending the term of ofice of the grand keeper of records and seal, was adopted. A resolution to’adopt the Obio plan of clecting graud lodzo ofiicers by vote of the past chaacellors met with a similar fate. “The per capita tax was fixed at 40 conts, ‘The amount appropriated for the expenses of tho grand chaucellor was increased from 21,000 to $1,400, and the v of the grand keoper of records and seats was increased to 31,000, Fifty dollars was appropriated for apast chancellor’s jewel for the retiring past grand chanzeilor.
