He did not believe it was a Christian duty to leave the church simply because there happened to be members in it who were not prohibitionists or even where the minister was not a prohi- bitionist, He thought i, much better to stay in the church and do the best that could be done to bring all Christian people to seo the merits of the prohibition 1dea. L. McCoy, filed its answer to the petition of Dr. 5. R. Towne, asking for a mandainus to compel the removal of the Cen- tral (graded) school from the High school builaing, After the usual deniul and admissions the answer gives a lengthy history of the block of ground known as Capitol square and its relation to the public schools of Omaha. It s ulso set up that there is plenty of room in the building for all the pupils who attend there, und that the Board of Iducation is dong the best it can to arrange for their a commodation; that no necessity for the r moval of Central school exists: that if r moved there is no place to put it, and the board is without means to provide’ a plac aad finally that at tho next clection the peo- ple will bo asked to vote bonds for the pur- vose of erecting a building for tho Central school. ——— Rural * Cop.” A man giving hisname as Goorge Sylvestor and stating that he was a farmer and detec- tive was arrested down in the slums last night for being drunk and disorderly.
