Mesdames Kimball and Champ Undertake to Recover Their Household Goods, CLAIMED TO BE EXEMPT FROM LEVY, Consi Frid rable of a Fight Promised on What an Attorn Concerning Al Persccution, A petition of intervention was filed by Louise C. Kimball and Alla D, Champ y terday morning in the cas of the Omaha National bank against Kimball & Champ, in whbich the household goods of both Kimball and Champ were seized by a deputy sheriff a day or two ago. In the petition it is alleged that the plaintiffs are the real owners of the proverty, and that therefore the goods are exempt from execation, Animmediate hear- ing was asked for, but was opposed the attorneys for the defendants on the ground that A, W. Askwith and J. N. Baldwin ars out of the city, and as they have attended the case over sinco it was started. [t was claimed it could not be tried until they returned. Considerable sharp talk W indulged in by the attorneys for the plain- tiffs, who plainly hinted that Askwith had left the city in order to get a postponewment of the trial. Tho judge called down the dis- putants, and at last sot F'riday morning as the time when the caso will be heard. In speaking of the trouble to which Kim- ball & Champ have boen subjected an attor- 7 who is connected with the case said yes- lay: ‘One who is not acquainted witn the true inwardness of this case can have no ide how Kumball & Champ have been bounded into doing what they have done. Then these judgments that they get will be worth their faco value.” A suit was also commenced in tho district court sterday afternoon by (ieorge Olcott, the Charlestown™ (N. DEMOCRATIC CAUCUSES, Some Confusion and several Diflicul- tics Encountered. The democrats held their ward caucuses last evening for the purpose of electing dele- gates to the county con -ention tv be held in the court house Friday morning at 11 o'clock. It was an important meeting, as it is con ceded that whoover gets the nomination on the democratic ticket will be elected. In the First ward the following delegation was electe T. Waterman, John Dunn, L. C. Basley, S. D. Rohrer, Ben Winchester, F. H. Guanella, Oscar Younkerman, D. K. Dodson, James ' Mithen, J. E. F. McGee. "This delegation is mostly for C. D. Walter for sheriff, although no instructions were giveu here nor in the other wards, From the Second cawe G. A. Holmes, R. V. Phillips, Theodore Bray, Gus Larson, Dr. Pattou, A. T. Whittlesey, Thomas Maloney J. C. McDonald, Charles’ White, Ed Bates, Dr. F. P, Bellinger, William Alstrand. This outfit was in favor of W. H. Knepher for treasurer, Another faction, favoring Brooks Reed for treasurer, withdrew and held a caucus in the parlors of the Gordon hotel. They denounced tine action of the members of ~the first caucus as fraudulent and eleoted the _following delegation: Gus Bergmann, BEdward DeKay, James Mithen, A. B, Cliue, Benjamin Marks, Peter Donabay, C. Hammer, Lucius Wells, Conrad~ Racer, Wiiliam Duell, A. L. Hend- ricks aud Thomas Coleman. 'They also ap- pointed a committed, consisting of Brooks RReed. In the Third ward there wasa grand row, but the following ticket was elected: William Malouey, J. J. Frainey, Anton Rink, L. C. Larsen, Emmet_ Tinley, ‘George Blax- sim, P. Gounnoude. The first vote in this ward was taken by the voters passing out of the door and depositing their tickets in & hut as thoy went. When sixty versons hao passed out of the door tha Votes in the hat were counted aud 103 baliots were found to have been cast. Chairman Mynster declared the vote fraudulent upon its face aud an- other was taken, In the Ilourth a contest was had over the question whether the delegates should be selected by ballot, or by nominations made by a committee, and afterwards voted on by the caucus. The latter method was finally adopted, and the following delecation was selected: B. S. Terwilliger, R. D. Amy, O, P, Wickham, J. R. Deitrich, Gi. A, Robinson, William Underwood, A. W.' Riekman. This delegation is said to be in favor of Reed for county treasuror. Mn tho Fifth ward there were four tickets in the field. Peterson. {avain delo- gation was olected, cousistingof the following democrats: J. Mulqueen, W. D. Rogerson, S. Katzenstein, ', Manaban, H. M. Hardin, J. Thompson, M. O'Boyle, L. Nieison.
