NEW YORK, July 22.—The dealinzs in the stock markettoday were marked by cven less featuro than those of the preceding day's. thouzh the general tendency of prices under the Influence of the covering of shorts by the tradi ment was upward. There was no real strengtn in the market how r, and the fluctuations were on the same limited seale as usnal of lute and possessed little signifi- cance. At the higher prices a few stooks showed material 2ains over last evening's figures, the one great exception being Sugar, which was allowed to drop away overl per cent by the manipulators.
