Justice Hammer heard the evidence in the case of the Council Bluffs Wolf club against N. Schurz yesterday. #lhe case grew out of a suit tried before Schurz while justice of the peace, in which ninctcen members of the club were sued for aues claimed to be due. Schurz, in aecordance with the custom of the justices at that time, churged fees as if there had been uine cuses instead of one. Judgment was rendered against the members of the club for amount of the claim, to- gether with osts, and the members thereupon commenced suit against Schurz to recover tho amount of the fees which, it was claimed, had been illegally charged. The suit was tried yesterday and taken under ad- visement. The reason giv for this re duction is that it was demanded by shippers, who claim there is discrimination in making a higher rate to Boston than to New York, becauso on live stock tho same rate applies to both points, The representatives of the other lines had no authority to take definite action on this matter and an adjourned meet ing will be held tomorrow to d fo whether the Michigan Central's reduction shall be made general by all railroads.
