CENSUS e BUREAU ON DEBTS, The Unit>d States the Most Favored Nation, WASIINGTON, May 12.—The census bureau has issued a bulletin upon the debts of the world. As far as can be obtained the debt of foreign uations in 1800 was, less a sinking fund, $25,636,076,000, an _increase over 1850 of $2,154,503,655. The debt of the United States for the same time shows adecrease of $1,007,- 455,000, or moro than half the amount of the debt in 1880. The decrease in the debt of the states and territories for ten years to 1590 is $67,219,000. In the same time the debt of the counties increased $17,846,000. Rela- tively the burdens of debt falls far heavier upon the inbabitants of the principal foreign countries, except those of (ermany, than those of this country, while the indi: fluctuations of amou of indebtedness of seventy-nine foreign nations reported have been considerable during the decide. The aggregated indebtedness shows relatively but little change, es ally if compared with the increase of population. Aegregating the national, state and county indebotedness por capita shows a decrease from #4650 in 1850, to $20.46 in 1500, The aggrezate surplus re- o2ipts of another decado like the one just past would relieve tho country from nearly all the national, state and county indebted- ness, could they be distributed for the pur- vose, : INGTOY, D.
