The wheat trade had a big day ot It There was less than the usual amount of outside news, but trading was vigorous and the mar- ket nervous and subject to ver$ violent changes, Thestorm at the seaboard left the trade withouteommun L with New York and, worse than that, left New York without @ chance to reach this market to cover short wheat. The strength which put wheat up 2%c on Saturday was felt at the opening. The fifst trades were wild and the pit greatly excited, but a fair quotation was 0o for May, of Yc up from the top price on 1y, Thero was i great whiri of buy ing at once and the price went to 973¢. This brought out a lot of realizing sales from local partfes and trom St. Lows buyers Baturday. The price dropped ok to 074 Bulged o 073e, dropped back to 07¢, up again 00740, off W %4, up to 97%e, off to 06%c, & brouk of 14 from the top, up o 97% and back todige beforo 1 o'clock.
