The National union has been in operation two years, and Mr, Crafts prides himself in having started auxiliary societies 1 nearly every stato in the country, Some of the alloged evils he is fighting are the running of Sunday trains, and the issuing of wicked Sunday morning pavers. The Young Men's Republican club met at Potter & Cobb's office last evening and elected the following officers for the ensuing year: President, D. J. O'Donahoe; vice- president, John C. Thompson; secretary: George A. Joplinj treasurer, James B. Meikle; directors, Messra, Baldridge, J. T. Cathers, W. S. Lindsay and Dave Mercer. A communication was received from John M. Thurston, president of the Republican ate club, called the attention of the mem- bers to the convention of the state club at Hastings, Octobor 7, and asked that del gates be sent. The following were chosen as delegates to that convention: George M. O'Brien, F'red MoConnell aud J. T. Cathers, The following committee of three were ap- pointed to hunt up suitable rooms as bead- quarters for the club: G. M. O'Brien, Dave Mercer and J. T, Cathor: The ad- visability of posting all republi voters on the new registration law was thoroughly discussed. A resolution_also was passed asking L B to reproduce the article. MR. PARROITI'S RESIGNATION. It 1s Under Consideration by the Direcrors of the Bank. The resignation of C. S. Parrotte, as pres- ident of the Douglas county baulk, has been submitted to the board of directors, and is under considevation. It has been expected for some time that Mr. Parrotte would re- sign, as he has been unable to attend to his duties about the bank. He has been con- fined to nis room since his return to the city, about three ks ago, by a partial paralysis of one side, and no visitors are mitted to see him. It has not yet been announced who will succeed him us president of the bank. Robbed His Benefactor. August Fischer, a bewhiskered gentleman who lives av 413 South Sixteenth street, swore out a warrant yesterday afternoon for the arrest of one Charles Young, on the charge of larceny. The first new locomotive turned out of the Union Pacific shops since George C. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Wyatt came from Marion township, Jasper county, Indiana, and for some time have been living in Brown Park at Eighteenth and R streets. Several times Mr. Wyatt Las made home so hot that his wife Eliza had to leave home. His abuse is said to have been constant and unbearable. Clara Belle Martin, daughter of Mr: Wyatt by a former husband, makes afidavit that when she was between ten and el years old her step-father, Willis Wy: committed a rape on her, and fre. quently afterwards, under threats and by force, gratified his ssion. When she made the matter public,Mr. Wyatt ran away to avoid prosecution. The affidavit of Miss Martin, with a writ- ten statement of a justice of the peace, was sent to Chief of Police Seavey at Omana, who referred the matter to Marshal Maloney. The latter carefully investizated the matter and finds Mrs. Wyatt's life a piti- able one. Miss Martin, has taken these steps to protect her littlo sisters now living with her bestial step-father. The Auxiliary society of the Protestant Episcopal missions gave one of the most suc- cessful entertainments and the most grati- fying oyster suppers Tuesday evening ever given by a church society in the city. The attendance was large and the oysters were as palatable and as elegantly served as could b desired.
