The men claim that young Mickie was very arbitrary in bis display of authority, and was totally unfit for the position, They stated that he would not allow them to take a glass of beer during the noon hour, After cousultation with the contractor it was agreed he should withdraw the young man, and the work skould go on, While thi moent was being reached the laborers s tered and the brickmasons could not work this aftornoon. Justice Anderson gave his decision yester- day morning in the case of Martin Ittne guardian for the heirs of Benjamin Ittner against Wiliiam Robinson and John J. Ittaer claimed that the lease provided for the payment by its holders of all taxes, but Justice Anderson thinks different, His in- terpretation of the language regurdingthe tax featuro was provided for the payment by Rebinson and Hardin, of such taxes as the property may be asscssed at for municipal, state and gov. ernment support. An assessment for curbiug, guttering, paviig and sewerage wmust be paid by the owners of the land. Get rid of that tired feeling as quick as possible. The new power house of the Omaha Street Railway company on the cr of Nineteeuth and Nicholas is practically com- pleted, as all the brickwork is done, the roof 18 on, the pits and rails in the car room are ready, and the boilers are ready for the fires to be kindled under them. All that re- mains to be done is to put up the engines and dynamos, and if they were here iv would probably not take over a week to have the new electric cars running. The dyna- mos aud_other machinery are now due, the stone foundations on which they will stand @re ready for them, and in fifteen days at the farthest, the old style system of mule power will have become a relic of the past in the central streets of the cit; Tho new motor house covers mo; than any other of its kind in tho ci west. It is 132x198 fect, lacking only oue lot of covering an catre half block. It consists of three rooms, all mammoth in their pro- portions, The car room occupies the east side of the establishment, is 132x134 feet and 82 feet high: It will contain twelve pits for the workmen to get at the disabled cars and is in every way complete, The boiler room 15 64x67 feet und thirty- two feet high, It is pronounced the finest engine room in the west both in equipments and for the comfort of the firemen, At present there are mammoth boilers, but anticipating ible future needs of 8 Zrowing ¢ room has been left for seven more which will more than double th sont capucity of the concern. The boiler foundations of concrete, on which rests a ved of and above Lhis is a plate of steel contiguous to the boilers. The chimney is 131 feet high und the opening at the top is 8 fect 8 inches wide, T'he northwest room will be devoted to en- gines and dynamos, and is the only room not fully equipped for service. It is 56x64 feet. It will at first have thres dynamos of 1073 horse power. Ihe average dynamo has only sixty-horse power, and the largast heritofore only eighty. Each eng.ne will be of 850-horse power. A number of the motor cars are now here and are being set up, and by the last of this month twenty will be ready for service. The track is laid to Sixteenth and Vinton with the exception of the spot which was so badly washed out three weeks ago. Poles and wires are being erected and strung and it is expected thut cars will be rin over th route in about four weeks, They will run around the loop in tho same manner as do the South Sixtecnth street cars, namely on Howard to Four- toenth, thence to Douglas, Twelfth and thence to Hownard street again, How many trains pass around the loop daily " was asked of Dr. Mercer. “i'rom 6 o'clock in the morning until 0 at night they pass around at the rate of one every three minutes.
