The company desired to consolidate the sev- enty-six-mile division between Evanston and Ogden and the 112milo division betweon Evanston aud Green River, making one divi- sion of 188 miles. The engineers opposed this movement for the reason that the 158 mile run would requiro enginecrs on way freight to be at their post upwards of twenty houra in making the run. This they maix: tuined 18 too long for any engineer or fireman to go without rest. They subuwittel o proposition to the comvany which involyes three divisions which provides for the dividing of the road into two divisions, This was to exte wile run to Salt Lake City oy which iffeludes the road Iivanston and Salt Lake and maintain the Qivision run s at present between G River und Uvanston.
