In Tur Bex of Wednesday ‘was published a Washington despatch stating that Congress- man Conuell expects to induce the postofiice department to place Omaha in the class of cities having 80,000 population and over which would materially increase the pay of mail carriers. In this class of offices the carri ers arc divided into three grades, and the highest salary paid is §1,000 a year, Tho second grade reccive $350 and the third $600.
