She has warned he saloonkeeper not to sell her husband any drink, but he has not heeded her demand. Yesterday the husband took the stove to the saloon on Thirteenth and Leavenworth streets and sold it for whisky. Judge Berka said he could do nothing to hiclp the woman, but advised her to begin an action in the civil conrt against th ooukeeper. The Assembly Hop. Several days ago the chaivman of the liouse committee on privileges and elections, of the legislature, wrote to County Clerk Roche requesting lim to forward an abstract of the vote cast for representatives in this county, and also the ballot boxes of the First, Secoud and Third wards. Scven boxes of these wards were sent to the comumittee, and the county cl \formed the speaker of the house of his action. He also stated that the keys and poll books remained in his posses- sion, and that some of them were in the lands of the grand jury, which was recently wed in investigating the alleged crooked jon aflairs. Mr. RRoche expected to be summoned before the house conmittee with the keys and poll boolks, but was not sub- pocnaed. Two citizens of Wamaga, Brown county Kan., arc in tne city to identify the horse stolen by Edward Walters in Northeastern Kansas a few weeks ago. One of them is a sred man, and the other is the eity mar- shal of Wamaza The horses are held by Deputy Sheriff Stryker until he receives his reward for the capture of Walters, The deputy has re- ceived §150 of the reward offered from the Kansas authorities and will be tendered the remaining $100 upon the conviction of the horse thief.
