At the Congregational church yesterday morning Rev. G. W. Mr. Ciofts is evidently heartily in favor of & revival, and spoise very earnestly of the need and desira- bility of such a movement. He spoke of the true revival not being a revival of secta- rianism. Hebelieved in sect and denom- inations. While such diffcrences had at times ledto foolish strifes over non-essentials, yot christians were fast learning that, wnile thiere might be an honest difference ini heads, the hearts could be in close sympathy. All should be working for the same result, but a difference in methods and iu organization was necessary to allow men to work best in accordance with their own peculiarities. The true revival was not a revival of dogmutism The 'speaker alluded to the preju- dice fell among many good peopl inst revivals because of the tend- o fanaticism. There was some nd, also for tiis hesi about en- couragiug revival movements, e had been revivals of fiuactism, but a revival of veligion was different entirely. le man's emotional nature should recognized and used for good, the emotional should always be kept subject to the rational.
