" Lixcoux BURAU or TRE OMA®A B, 1020 P Stheer, The injunction suit first brought against tho Lincoln Paper Mills company by Mr. P. H. Cooper, lilustrates the fact that what bids fair to be of great benefit to most people may damage a few. But, nevertheless, property rights must be protected and Mr. Cooper, the man who has packed ice during the winter months to cool the parched gu! ets of Lin- coluites in midsummer for the past nineteen cars, comos into court and alleges that he s expended upwards of $2,000 on appliances for pucking ice, at a pomnt below the paper wills, where the water of the oreek is clear and pure, and affords the best of ice during the winter months. Now, says the plaintiff, oomes tne defendant and erects a paper mill, and digs largo vats and holcs in_tho ground in which the dirty straw, rags and other ma. terial 15 washed, and & sewer, being anoces und ponds, thus making his propes almost wholly 'worthless. The plaintiff stutes that he has remonstrated in vain sgatust tho digging of the sewer. He there- fore prays an injunction restraining further work on the sewer, and an order com pelling the Ligeoln Paper Mill company to change the sewer so thut it will carry the “ailings” and filth to some other point in the croek, below his property, 5o tuat his ice will not be destroyed, and which he states can be done at very little if any additional ex- pense to the defondunts, The injunction was grauted, and the case will be heard. A FAITALESS SIOUSE. Suit was commenced in the district court of Lancaster county yesterday afternoon by Hannah A. Nelson against Jasper M. Nelson and Willisn B. Howard. Howard, who is made one of the parties to the suit, but that she has not received any of the proceeds of the sale. Sinco then she has revoked th pu\\u of uttorney, and her hus band, Ji clson, has deserted uusu to provide her with bed and board. The relator thereforc prays an in- junction restraining the husband from re ceiving money from Howard on the sale of lllo perty in question, and an order com Jasper M. to pay his deserted wife a .-mmu fixed sum per week for her support. The injunction was granted temporarity. NEBRASKA'S OFPICIAL VOTR.
